|
A case of juxtacortical chondroma occurring in a 24 years old Korean airman is -reported. The tumor developed one year prior to the admission for surgery. The tumor was located around the costochondral junction of the fifth rib. The tumor measures 4 cm in diameter and is developed in close relation to the periosteum involving partly the underlying bony cortex. However, it does not break through the medullary cavity. Microscopically sections of the tumor reveal lobulated appearance consisting of mature cartilage cells. Most cartilage cells are uninuclear and are devoid of ally atypism although cellularity is generally increased.
